Security became a vital part of the digital world and it continues to be a challenge for businesses and applications of all shapes and sizes.

Recently we have updated our IPS-Identity Provider™. Read below, what IPS-Identity provider™ is, how does it work and what’s new in the latest release.

IPS-Identity Provider™ is a Security Token Service that builds, signs, and issues security tokens for all IPS applications. It enables clients to verify the identity of the end-user based on the performed authentication, as well as to obtain basic profile information about the end-user in an interoperable and REST-like manner.

IPS-Identity Provider™ is based on .NET Core 3.x and IdentityServer4. It supports single sign-on/out over multiple application types. It issues access tokens for APIs for various types of clients. It is also Federation Gateway and supports external identity providers such as Azure Active Directory, ADFS, etc.

Main features of the IPS-Identity Provider™:

  • Protect resources such as APIs
  • Authenticate users using a local account store or via an external identity provider
  • Provide session management and single sign-on
  • Manage and authenticate clients
  • Issue identity and access tokens to clients
  • Validate tokens
